Twelve-year-old Dylan Webber lives in outback Western Australia in a small country town. When he discovers he has a talent for folding and flying paper planes, Dylan begins a journey to reach the World Junior Paper Plane Championships in Japan.
Along the way he makes unlikely new friends, clashes with powerful rivals and comes to terms with his family's past before facing his greatest challenge – to create a paper plane that will compete with the best in the world.

About the Author

Steve Worland won the award for Best Original Screenplay at the 2015 AACTA Awards for the hit Australian family film Paper Planes. 

He has worked extensively in film and television in Australia and the USA. He has written scripts for Working Title and Icon Productions, worked in script development for James Cameron’s Lightstorm and wrote Fox Searchlight’s Bootmen, which won five Australian Film Institute awards.

Steve also wrote the action-comedy telemovie Hard Knox, the bible and episodes of the television series Big Sky and the Saturn award-winning Farscape. Paper Planes, which he co-wrote with director Robert Connolly, was released in early 2015. Steve's novelisation of the screenplay was released at the same time.

He is the author of the action-adventure novels Velocity, Combustion and Quick.
